Sitting on the banks of gorgeous Tamarack Lake (330 acres), with its vibrant downtown, beautiful housing, and great schools, Lakeview proves to be one of the greatest places to live work and raise a family.

Lakeview is the epicenter for commerce, living and play for Cato Township, located in the northern panhandle region of Montcalm County. Lakeview has a population of about 1,120, however during business hours the community serves a population of about 3,000.

Lakeview is home to many notable companies such as Spectrum Health Kelsey Hospital, Steeple Chase Tool & Die Inc, Parker Hannifin’s brass fitting division and many more.

The historic downtown district provides a unique dining and shopping experience for residents and visitors. The downtown also provides affordable commercial space with high traffic and foot counts, which prove to be conducive to economic development and entrepreneurship.

The entire Lakeview Community School District campuses are located in the Village limits. Lakeview Community Schools serve about 200 square miles of northern Montcalm County and southern Mecosta County.
The Lakeview Community Schools provide state of the art technology in each building, dual enrollment classes for students on campus from Montcalm Community College, and boasts over $500,000 annually in student scholarships for post secondary education. Furthermore, each academic building is making Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP).
Lakeview Airport Griffith Field also provides the community with a fully operational municipal airport. With fuel and cooperate, box, and t-hangar space available, this airport can serve any need. Lakeview Airport has a runway length of 3,500ft and an elevation of 970ft.
Spectrum Health Kelsey Hospital provides the community with primary care physicians, 24/7state of the art emergency facilities, and long-term care facilities. Providing Critical access care to the northern portion of Montcalm County and southern Mecosta County, Spectrum Health Kelsey Hospital provides “big city” resources with quality hometown service.
Lakeview hosts two annual festivals and events. Summerfest which is held on the third weekend in June every year boast thousands of visitors and numerous events such as the Kids Carnival, Parades, Lions Club cookout, business expo and much more. “Christmas in Lakeview”, which is held the first weekend in December, provides families a unique holiday experience in the historic downtown. Kids can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Breakfast with Santa event at the Tamarack District Library, enjoy carriage rides, cookie decorating, and much more.
